Due to the growing market demand, the company is looking to hire a Financial Controller for their office in Sofia.
This role ensures proper execution of financial planning and analyses, as well as reporting within an assigned cluster (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia) for the entire cost volume of the P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and data quality management. The main task of the Financial Controller is to improve frugality in cost management and thus, becoming more cost-efficient. The Financial Controller acts as a close business partner to the FP&A Director and Cluster MD and is responsible for reporting in different directions according to the role within the company’s structure.
Key responsibilities:
- Support FP&A Director and Cluster Managing Director in core tasks of improving financial development of the cluster through active financial management and business partnering;
- Conduct financial analyses and communicate key financial developments frequently to FP&A Director and Cluster Managing Director and other stakeholders;
- Offer financial guidance to FP&A Director and Cluster Managing Director in key business decisions related to cost development, investments, spends and efficiency improvements;
- Cost control on all cost’s buckets and SG&A expenses of Cluster and VG;
- Support strategic and tactical development of the business and financial processes under the guidance of the FP&A Director;
- Play an active role in forecast and budget cycles;
- Strong collaboration with the cluster accounting team to ensure proper and timely booking as well as reporting;
- Works effectively within a matrix organization, aligning financial goals and strategies across multiple markets (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia) and coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations;
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in different directions within the organization, including reporting to the Financial Director, local country controlling functions, and operational coordination;
- Provide financial insights and strategic recommendations to regional and global management for optimizing operational efficiency across the cluster;
Competencies for the position:
- University degree in Business administration with Major in finance (or comparable);
- At least 1 year of experience as a financial controller in the retail, wholesale, or FMCG sector with international exposure;
- Experience working within a matrix organization, collaborating across multiple countries and departments;
- Business acumen and commercial mindset;
- High analytical skills, proactiveness, and strong compliance profile;
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken);
- SAP experience will be considered as an advantage;
- Strong understanding of financial processes and reporting standards within the cluster markets (Bulgaria, Romania, Serbia);
