Our client, a global leader in the alternative energy sector, is currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Accountant to join their team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for overseeing the international accounting team and managing the financial operations across a global network of companies. The Chief Accountant will oversee and manage the accounting operations across multiple subsidiaries within a leading company in the alternative energy sector. This role is crucial for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial activities within the group.

Main Duties

  • Coordinate and supervise the daily operations of the Accounting Departments and external Accounting Service Providers across the group.
  • Control the preparation of interim and annual financial statements for all subsidiaries and the consolidated financial statements for the group.
  • Review and provide advice on the tax positions of each subsidiary, ensuring compliance with specific country regulations, and oversee the preparation of quarterly and annual tax returns (VAT and CIT).
  • Supervise financial operations of each subsidiary to ensure accounting and tax regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and maintain accounting policies and procedures in line with best industry practices across all subsidiaries and at the group level.
  • Assist in budget preparation and manage expenses for assigned accounts.
  • Organize and facilitate audit activities by preparing necessary documentation and liaising with auditors.
  • Monitor and record financial transactions according to company policies and regulations.
  • Conduct training sessions on accounting or ERP system issues as required.
  • Interpret legislative and regulatory requirements and ensure necessary amendments to processes or procedures.
  • Provide support on accounting matters related to the group’s core business.
  • Report regularly to senior management, ensuring a high level of accuracy and timeliness.

Profile

Education: University degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Language: Strong command of English (minimum level B2).
Knowledge and experience with non EU GAAP

Experience

Proven experience in a multinational company with foreign subsidiaries.
Extensive experience in group reporting and consolidations.
Experience in managing and leading a team.

Skills

Strong precision and attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic team environment.
